Matt Lauer Fired

NBC News announce this morning that longtime host Matt Lauer has been terminated over “inappropriate sexual” workplace behavior. Lauer’s former co-host, Today‘s Savannah Guthrie, said in an early morning announcement on the show “We are devastated.” Guthrie also lauded the bravery of the coworker that came forth in the allegations. NBC News chairman Andy Lack released a statement to staffers saying that “on Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer,” indicating that though “it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.”
