For the first time nominations for Record of the Year at the Grammys are for artists of color. Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Jay-Z, Bruno Mars, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee were up for the honor as announced this morning for the 60th annual Grammy ceremony. Jay-Z and Lamar received the most Grammy nods, in eight and seven categories, respectively. Spokesperson for the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, said they believe the occurance to be a “terrific reflection of the voting membership of the academy.” The Grammy Awards will take place on Jan. 28 at Madison Square Garden.
