The fight to give parents choice in where their child(ren) are educated was a hard fought battle. Several years after the North Carolina Supreme Court affirmed the constitutionality of the ‘Opportunity Scholarship Program’ – in which funds are used to send children to private or charter schools – parents across the Tar Heel State have taken advantage of this monumental decision. Instrumental in that fight was the Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina. ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland talked with Darrell Allison President of the ‘Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina’ about the upward of $35 million in scholarships for children.
