Funeral services for Muhammad Ali are being held today in Louisville, Kentucky. Ali died last Friday at the age of 74 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A Muslim prayer service was held yesterday in his honor and this morning, a procession started through Ali’s hometown of Louisville. Dozens of cars and thousands have gathered in the city’s streets to pay respects to the legendary boxer as his hearse passed destinations including the Ali Center, Muhammad Ali Boulevard, and his childhood home. The procession will lead to a local cemetery, where Ali will be buried in a private ceremony.
An afternoon interfaith memorial service will take place at 2pm at the KFC Yum! Center. More than 15,000 tickets were handed out to fans, and a number of celebrities are expected to be in attendance.
