News outlets are abuzz with response to video that records an incident between a Columbia-area school resource officer and a female student at Spring Valley High School
The video shows Ben Fields as he approaches a female student seated in a desk. He at some point puts arm around her neck and flips the desk over, forcibly restraining and removing her.
The teen had been asked by a male teacher to leave the classroom, and had refused. A female administrator had come in and asked her to leave as well, before calling in Fields.
That teen was arrested as was another female student who indicates she was trying to help. Fields has been placed on administrative duties pending an investigation.
