An NYPD officer was placed on modified assignment in connection with an incident involving black tennis star James Blake. Blake alleges that he was slammed to the ground and handcuffed after being mistakenly identified as a suspect in an identity-theft investigation. Blake, a former professional player once ranked No. 4 in the world, says the incident happened outside his New York hotel Wednesday as he waited for a car to take him to the U.S. Open. The Harvard graduate said he suffered cuts and bruises, and told Robin Roberts this morning on GMA, that he would like an apology for what he believes to have been excessive force – pointedly noting that he is not making accusations of racial profiling.  All the officers involved were white and said they mistook Blake, who is black, for a suspect involved in an identity-theft ring.
