Congratulations to Randolph Middle School student Akshra Paimagam’s who was among the 49 contestants left standing after the first day of competition at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
234 students were eliminated yesterday and Akshra successfully completed the day’s first round by accurately spelling “camphor”.
