New Orleans, LA — The headliners for the 2013 Essence Music Festival were announced Friday, April 6th . The nightly headliners are Beyonce, Maxwell, New Edition, Charlie Wilson, Brandy, Jill Scott, LL Cool J, and Keyshia Cole. Recently added to the festival are Trey Songz, Janelle Monae and TGT (Supergroup Tyrese, Ginuwine, Tank).
The 2013 Essence Music Festival, takes place July 4-7 in New Orleans, La. and is considered to be the most exhilarating cultural celebration of the year; featuring a mix of bold names, exciting newcomers and returning favorites.
Festival attendees will experience a dazzling aural event with the thrilling headlining line-up of Grammy-Award winners Jill Scott and Maxwell (Friday, July 5); Charlie Wilson and New Edition (Saturday, July 6); and a powerful closing performance from Grammy-Award winning icon Beyonce (Sunday, July 7). Nephew Tommy from The Steve Harvey Morning Show will once again return as the Mainstage host, assuring laughs and a lively audience interaction.
Gospel artists Tramaine Hawkins and Donnie McClurkin will be also honored during the Essence Festival. Mali Music will perform on Friday, July 5.
