Teen Fatally Shot Near Charlotte Elementary School

A 17-year-old boy died after he was found shot inside a car near a Charlotte elementary school on Sunday, police said. Officers responded to a report of a shooting on Spring Street around 4:30 p.m. and found the teen in the vehicle. According to WBTV, he was taken to a hospital by Medic and later died. His name has not been released. The shooting occurred near Walter G. Byers Elementary School and was one of two fatal shootings involving minors in Charlotte that day. Police said no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
