After Over Two Years in Office, Great Falls Mayor Resigns

The mayor of Great Falls, South Carolina, has resigned after more than two years in office. Mayor Josh Brantley submitted his resignation letter to the Town of Great Falls on Thursday, January 23.
In the letter, Brantley explained that he could no longer “financially support the town” as he had over the past two-and-a-half years. He also shared that he felt a calling to pursue a different direction after serving in the role, according to WBTV.
Brantley’s resignation marks the end of his tenure as mayor, though no immediate details have been provided regarding a successor or plans for filling the vacancy.
