There are a number of Foster Care and Adoption services in Gaston County. These agencies, along with efforts by the Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services are doing extraordinary work matching children in need of Foster care with families that yearn to extend their heart, resources and love to children that want a place to call home. For its part, The Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services’ is exhausting every avenue to ensure that children have a safe place to call home and loving people to call parent(s). ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host Ron Holland talked with Tiyana Shands, Foster Care Coordinator for Gaston County DHHS and Julie Murphy, the department’s Foster Care Licensing supervisor.
