Vice President Mike Pence left yesterday’s Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers game in protest of some players kneeling during the National Anthem, saying he did not want to “dignify” the demonstration. On Twitter he shared, “I left today’s Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.” National Football League spokesman Joe Lockhart said the league has no comment, though many have weighed in suggesting that it was a political publicity stunt.
