Hurricane Maria Continues Devastating Path

Hurricane Maria has strengthened into a Category 5 storm, with maximum sustained winds of up to 160 mph. This morning Maria battered the small Caribbean island Dominica and is headed northward towards other eastern Caribbean islands recently ravaged by Hurricane Irma. Is expected to reach Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands on Wednesday. The National Hurricane Center described the storm as “extremely dangerous” and as of now, Maria is not expected to hit Florida.
