Wonder Woman led the weekend box office, bringing in $100.5 million in North America, shattering the record for the biggest opening for a female director. The previous record of $85.2 million was held by Fifty Shades of Grey. Wonder Woman, which was directed by Patty Jenkins, also was the first major superhero film led by a woman.
