A South Carolina state representative—best known for his support of the Confederate battle flag—was arrested yesterday after allegedly beating his wife and pointing a gun at her. Rep. Chris Corley posted a $20,000 bond on Tuesday and was released with conditions that he won’t make contact with his wife or possess a firearm. Corley, 36, was charged with domestic violence and presenting a firearm. Known as a conservative and a staunch gun rights advocate, Corley voted in 2015 to support South Carolina’s domestic violence law which included a partial gun ban. Read the full story here
