Beyonce’ Bumps Ledisi? Grammy Injustice?
The Grammy’s are splitting my allegiance between two artists. So, Beyonce will be performing on the award show broadcast on Sunday – that’s always a good thing – except when it’s not. Apparently, in spite of Ledisi’s stellar performance of “Take My Hand Precious” as Mahalia Jackson in Selma, Beyonce will sing it at the Grammy’s in “tribute” to Selma. Though I love B, and celebrate her star power, it seems a little misplaced and unnecessary here. Ledisi’s star (and voice) suit me just fine. Ledisi has graciously been mum on the subject.
