Seven Suffer Smoke Inhalation on Tarmac at Charlotte Douglas Airport

Seven people were hospitalized late Friday night after experiencing smoke inhalation on the tarmac at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, according to emergency officials.
Medic reported that six of the individuals were crew members and one was a gate agent. According to WCCB, six sustained minor injuries, while one person was seriously hurt. All were transported to local hospitals.
Officials noted a slight odor of jet fuel inside the aircraft. Medic also responded to several unrelated, low-acuity medical calls at the scene but did not link them to the primary incident.
