Charlotte logged its 10th straight day of 90-degree temperatures Sunday, with heat indices pushing even higher across the Piedmont. The High Country saw slightly cooler highs in the low 80s.

The pattern of scorching afternoons and isolated storms is expected to hold for one more day before changes arrive. According to WCCB, a frontal system moving west to east Tuesday afternoon is expected to bring widespread showers and storms, with heavy rain, lightning, and the potential for isolated severe storms.

By Wednesday, most of the region will see improving conditions, though storms may linger in southeastern areas. Cooler temperatures are expected midweek, with highs in the upper 80s for Charlotte and near 80 in the High Country. Tonight, you can expect clearing skies, mild and muggy. Temperatures will be in the low 70’s with a calm wind.
