Amazon is investing $10 billion in a new high-tech campus in Richmond County that’s expected to create 500 high-paying jobs, the company announced this week.

According to WBTV, the facility will focus on cloud computing and artificial intelligence innovation. While no opening date has been announced, the project marks a major expansion of Amazon’s footprint in North Carolina, where it already employs 24,000 people.

Earlier this year, Amazon opened a second facility in Kannapolis, adding 100 jobs, and announced plans for four more sites across the state as part of its continued growth.
