Man Arrested for Breaking into Train in North Charlotte

A Tennessee man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly attempting to steal an Amtrak train in north Charlotte.
Joseph Seigle, 43, reportedly broke into the conductor’s car at the Amtrak station on North Tryon Street just before midnight. Two Amtrak employees were in their office when they heard the train horn activate. Seigle faces charges of attempted kidnapping and trespassing on railroad property. No injuries were reported, and Amtrak confirmed there were no issues during the incident.
