Mass Shooting at Hickory-Area Party
Authorities are investigating a mass shooting at a house party near Hickory early Sunday that left one person dead and 11 others injured. More than 80 shots were fired around 12:45 a.m. at a home on Walnut Acres Drive in Catawba County’s Mountain View area, according to The Charlotte Observer. The victim was identified as 58-year-old Shawn Patrick Hood of Lenoir. The youngest injured was 16, and one person in critical condition was taken to a Charlotte hospital. Others were treated locally. No arrests have been made, and investigators are urging witnesses to come forward with information.
