Teen Arrested in SC Boat Party Shooting That Injured 11
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Illinois in connection with a shooting that injured 11 people following a party boat cruise in South Carolina, authorities said.
The shooting occurred Sunday night on a dock in Little River after a fight broke out during the three-hour cruise, according to the Horry County Police Department.
Officials said the suspect, taken into custody in Lake County, Illinois, will face multiple counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Authorities are working to extradite him to South Carolina.
About 120 people had attended the party during the holiday weekend. Ten people suffered gunshot wounds, primarily to their lower bodies, and one person was injured by a falling speaker. Police said the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests may follow.
