An electric vehicle caught fire early Monday at a home in south Charlotte, drawing a large emergency response.

The fire started around 1:30 a.m. on Normans Landing Drive in the Hamilton Lakes neighborhood. Charlotte Fire Department crews, including a fire engine and a hazardous materials truck, responded along with at least three Charlotte-Mecklenburg police vehicles.

According to WBTV, Firefighters quickly contained the flames to a small area. Officials at the scene confirmed the vehicle was electric but did not identify the make or model. Radio scanner traffic suggested it may have been a Tesla, though that has not been officially confirmed.

There was no immediate word on injuries related to the fire.
