A third standard security checkpoint will soon open at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. Airport officials announced on Wednesday, Feb. 26, that Checkpoint 2 is expected to open in time for spring break. According to WBTV, the new checkpoint, which will replace Checkpoint C, is part of the $608 million Terminal Lobby Expansion project. Once completed, the airport will have three checkpoints with more lanes and enhanced equipment for faster screening. The entire project, which began in 2019, is set to be finished by fall.
