UNC Names Bill Belichick Head Coach

Legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick is set to become the new head coach at the University of North Carolina, the school announced Wednesday.
According to WBTV, this move marks Belichick’s return to coaching and his first time leading a college program. Belichick, who won eight Super Bowls as a coach and coordinator—six of them with the New England Patriots—parted ways with the team after the 2023 season and spent the past year working in television.
Widely considered one of the greatest coaches in NFL history, Belichick will take over at UNC following the firing of Hall of Fame coach Mack Brown in November. Belichick holds the record for most Super Bowl wins by a head coach (six) and ranks third all-time in coaching victories with 302.
