Gaston County will open its warming center as winter weather approaches, offering shelter on nights when temperatures are expected to drop to or below 32 degrees. Located at the Gastonia Farmer’s Market, the center will operate from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and is open to all, with no identification required. According to WSOC, the county, in partnership with the United Way of Gaston County and several faith-based organizations, is providing the resources for the shelter.
