A Charlotte school celebrated one of its own this week, just months after she earned a silver medal at the Paris Olympics.

Anna Cockrell, a member of Providence Day School’s 2016 graduating class, returned to campus Tuesday for the inaugural “Anna Cockrell Day.”

According to WBTV, the school shared a video showcasing a lively pep rally in her honor, with the Olympian present. At 27, Cockrell, a Charlotte native, won silver in the women’s 400-meter hurdles at her second Olympic Games. After graduating from Providence Day, she went on to compete in track events at the University of Southern California.
