Myers Park’s Rodney Dunham, a 6-foot-4, 227-pound junior defensive end, is a standout both on the gridiron and the baseball diamond. With nearly two dozen high-level Division I offers from schools like Auburn, Georgia, North Carolina, and Michigan, Dunham is the No. 6-ranked edge rusher nationally for his class, says The Charlotte Observer. His coach expects him to surpass his impressive sophomore stats—58 tackles, 15 for a loss, and four sacks.

In addition to his football prowess, Dunham, who turned 16 last month, is a talented pitcher with an 89 mph fastball. He is also drawing attention from baseball programs including Duke, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Dunham is determined to pursue both sports in college, inspired by athletes like Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson who excelled in both football and baseball. He believes that by maintaining his current level of performance, he can succeed in both fields.
