Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John has died. 52, The actor’ was found in his San Fernando Valley home after a friend went to check on him. He was announced dead at the scene. No cause of death has been released.
St. John has played Neil Winter on Young and the Restless since 1991.
St. John has had an ongoing battle with mental illness. In 2017, St. John threatened to kill himself and was placed under a 72-hour hold for psychiatric evaluation. This followed his late son, Julian’s suicide in 2014. The 24-year-old was diagnosed with depression when he was a child and went through bouts of drug addiction.
St. John may have shared that he was still battling the aftermath of the tragedy in his last retweet.
