er turnout is very low. After a full week of early voting, only 991 people had shown up at the city’s only early voting location at the Hal Marshall Building. The sole location and odd hours for working class people (the polls closed at 5pm last week), certainly lent itself to low voter turnout. Eight additional locations opened up for voting yesterday and the total numbers for the day quickly more than doubled the total numbers for the preceding week, though still low at an eight day total of 2,749 voters (including absentee ballots).
