A grand jury recently decided there would be no indictment in the death of  Sandra Bland, who found hanging in her jail cell after an arrest following being pulled over for a traffic violation in July. Authorities say she committed suicide, but Bland’s family have been skeptical from the very beginning, saying that she was full of life and hope. One of those sources of hope was gospel music, and in particular a song recorded by Tye Tribbett’, recorded by Charlotte resident, writer/worship leader KJ Scriven.  Bland’s sister, Sharon Cooper indicated in an interview that the song was one her sister’s favorites and has been a source of comfort for the family.

Scriven shared his sense of gratitude and humility on social media.
