Bill Cosby is taking seven of his accusers to court for defamation, The Huffington Post reports.

The embattled comedian filed a defamation countersuit against Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis and Angela Leslie on Monday.

According to his lawyer, Monique Pressley, Cosby claims the women made false accusations in publications, as well “malicious, opportunistic and false and defamatory accusations of sexual misconduct against him.” He believes the women are destroying his character for monetary gain, claiming they interfered with his now-defunct deals with NBC and Netflix.

The Huffington Post reports:

The suit was filed in response to the defamation suit brought against the actor by his accusers. Traitz, Serignese and Green first filed a suit against Cosby in December 2014 and were joined by Bowman, Tarshis, Moritz and Leslie this past November. Cosby’s countersuit against the seven women comes after a federal judge in Massachusetts refused to throw out their suit against him.

Over 50 women have accused Cosby of drugging them and using his celebrity to prevent them from coming forward. A 2005 deposition revealed he testified he gave women Quaaludes, a sedative drug, with the intention of having sex with them.

Cosby also says he didn’t defame any of the women in his statements to the media, which have been limited.
