Sadly, the tragic case of 12 year old Tamir Rice could seemingly be lost in the sea of tragedies since November 22, 2014 – the day Rice was shot and killed by Cleveland Police Officer Timothy Loehmann. Rice has still not been funeralized, due to the lengthy investigation into the shooting, which ironically was recorded and leaves little to be “investigated”.
Tamir’s family is waiting to avoid possibly having to exhume the body for further examination, and are incurring daily charges of $75. Currently expenses are over $18,000.00 and the family suggests that the city is deliberately delaying closing the investigation to inflict harm of another kind to their family.
