CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Psi Omega Chapter is pleased to host an Affordable Care Act Forum and free healthcare screenings. The event will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 11am to 2pm at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology located at 1430 Alleghany Street, Charlotte, NC 28208
The event will be moderated by the Honorable Ty Hands and will feature a team of Affordable Health Care Experts who will share information and respond to questions. The panelists include Mark Van Arnam of Get Covered America, Laura McClettie, Affordable Care Act Specialist with CW Williams Health Care Center, NC State Representative, Kelly Alexander, District 107 and NC State Representative Carla Cunningham, District 106, and Dr. S. Danica Clark of Doctors for America.
Citizens who do not have healthcare are encouraged to come and review their options and get coverage before the enrollment deadline on March 31, 2014.
FREE blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes screenings will began at 11:15AM and will continue throughout the event. Registration is not required to attend the Forum . However, pre-registration is preferred for healthcare screenings.
