I could not believe my eyes when I walked into a store recently and saw a product that I actually thought about patenting over 20 years ago.  Right there on the shelf was an idea that I went so far as to have professionally designed, did the research and mistakenly discussed with far too many people.

I’m sure I am not alone.  Have you ever thought about launching a business, going back to school, writing a book ect. but never taken the next step because you fell victim to negative self-talk; or, like me, listening to the talking heads.

A couple of days ago, I read an article by Robert Stover where he shared recent financial success with Lego’s.  It seems that Lego have been around forever, however, interestingly enough, this year Lego has increased its profit by 35 percent.  For the first time since 1934 Lego decided to produce Lego for Girls.  It’s a big step for the company because traditionally Lego were thought to be a toy for boys.

The belief that Lego was for boys only, kept this company from making this move for more than 79 years.  Believe it or not, they were also concerned about the criticism they may encounter.

Invisible barriers that take place in our thinking can blind us to the truth.  What we think about life, family, relationships, new business ideas etc.; have the capability of stopping us in our tracks with no results.

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”

Jeremiah 29:11 is such a powerful verse as it basically says for “I” know what I have planned for you and “I have DECLARED it.”  The verse goes on to say, for your “welfare” and not “evil” for a “future of hope.”

The next time you face a barrier that keeps you from moving in the direction of your good, regardless of the area of your life, perhaps you will take time to mediate, ask for direction and move.  Nothing is accomplished by just sitting there.

In the words of Matthew 7:7, knock, seek and ask.
