An Orangeburg County jury awarded a South Carolina State University student half a million dollars Wednesday for injuries he received from a broken dorm window.
Gerald Wayne Brooks claimed that S.C. State, through its maintenance contractor Sodexo, left the window broken for seven months despite being told of the problem.
