S. Kristi Douglas, Playwright

Overcoming adversity undergirds the new stage play set to hit Charlotte during Mother’s Day weekend. ‘Daughter of the King,’ a musical written and produced by S. Kristi Douglas will be performed at Central Peidmont Community College’s Pease Auditorium on May 12th & 13th.  The musical, which  emerged from the song, ‘Daughter of the King’  , tells the story of three sisters who are required to confront their past and navigate the new drama in their lives. Kristi Douglas stopped by Praise 100.9 FM to talk with ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland, about the musical. Douglas was accompanied by Singer Cassandra O’Neil who plays Opheila King in the musical. The play’s Director, Ms. Vicki L. Evans, founder of Soaring High Productions also participated in the interview.
