The Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra is partnering with the Connections Underground Railroad Project. This two-day event features Hidden Freedom Festival on Saturday and the CSYO Spring Reunion Concert on Sunday.

The Hidden Freedom Festival features family activities, such as face-painting and a petting zoo, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, and the performance “Toward A Life of Liberty: Chronicling the Paths from Slavery to Freedom.” These events will be at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 3200 Park Road. Free.

On Sunday, the CSYO will host its reunion. The concert features “Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl,” by former CSYO musician Ted Gellar-Goad. 3:30 p.m., Halton Theater, CPCC. $8 adults, $6. 704-972-2000.
