As a child one of my favorite books was Gale Sayers “I Am Third.” There were many lessons in the book, but the one that stood out to me was Sayers hierarchy of life. He placed God first in this hierarchy, his family second and he was third. So, when I happened upon I Am Second, I automatically thought of Sayers’ book.
While the movement suggests that we put ourselves second, there is one thing it has in common with Sayers’ message – God is first.
