The political season has taken in off all over the country, but it is particularly exciting in Charlotte.  In addition to the biannual City Council elections, the DNC is gearing up, which is making Charlotte a hot spot for politics.  There are many people in the community who generally won’t participate in the political process, but there is no reason for anyone not to be involved. It is probably downright stupid for you not to participate, especially when organizations like Crossroads Charlotte are offering free classes that will help you become a more effective grassroots advocate.

Through the organization’s Know It 2 Work It’s Civic Summer School (KIWI) classes, you will be able to build and enhance your skills as a grassroots advocate with guidance from city leaders and experts in various fields of activism.  Through KIWI you will learn:

  • The Hidden Strategies of Effective Advocacy
  • Tried and Used Communication Strategies
  • How To Talk to Elected Officials
  • Understanding the Local and State Budget Process

Learn more about Crossroad Charlotte’s Civic Summer School program and register today at www.knowit2workit.org.

Get involved and be a catalyst for change in your community!
