A federal judge has temporarily barred the Trump administration from enforcing a policy to refuse asylum to immigrants who illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border. The American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Constitutional Rights sued the administration on behalf of asylum-seekers, and Judge Jon S. Tigar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued a temporary restraining order saying that Trump’s intention violates international law.
