One South Carolina law enforcement officer was killed and six others injured after being shot near the town of Florence late last night. The suspect behind the shooting has been taken into custody. Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutchken identified the officer as Terrence Carraway, 52, of Darlington, and a 30 year veteran of the force. Authorities have identified 74-year-old Frederick Hopkins, a disabled Vietnam veteran and disbarred lawyer, as the shooter. He is in custody.
Florence Police Chief Allen Heidler has asked for the prayers of “every human being who knows the Lord Jesus Christ”, for these officers.
