Beyoncé debuted her cover for Vogue’s iconic September issue Monday morning, making her the first guest editor given full control.  Making further noise, B hired the first black cover photographer in the magazine’s 126-year history. Penning long-form captions to accompany her photos, she spoke about her struggle to accept her body after her difficult pregnancy with twins. She also talks about the hiring of  23-year-old Tyler Mitchell to shoot the cover, saying “Imagine if someone hadn’t given a chance to the brilliant women who came before me: Josephine Baker, Nina Simone, Eartha Kitt, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Whitney Houston. They opened the doors for me, and I pray that I’m doing all I can to open doors for the next generation of talents.”
