MoviePass will soon begin limiting customers to just three movies a month, a major change from its original offering of one movie a day. The company says it has a cash deficit of $45 million and needs to cut expenses. Chief Executive Mitch Lowe said the new policy will go into effect August 15 and will reduce the company’s cash-burn rate by more than 60 percent. MoviePass subscribers pay $9.95 a month to see one movie a day but, in practice, 85 percent of it’s 3 million customers see three or fewer a month.
