Get your afternoon coffee before 2 p.m. local time today, because Starbucks will close all 8,000 company-owned stores around the United States, so employees can undergo an anti-bias training. This resultant of an incident in a Philadelphia Starbucks in April where a Starbucks manager called the police on two black men who were waiting to have a business meeting. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said the incident was “reprehensible” and is mandating this training as part of the company’s commitment to reform its policies.
