Adarryl Dezmon Ervin loved music. At the age of 18, he not only hit the studios to record his own songs, he was privileged to tour with a host of some of today’s major artists including Akon, T-Pain, Yung Berg. Despite a bright future and promising career in music, Adarryl grappled with a mental illness that would lead to drug and alcohol use. The music talent that protected his sister  Saqqara “Skye” Jamaal  and loved his mom, Cherisse Irvin would eventually succumb to the awful grip of depression and drugs. A cardiac arrest and coma ended Adarryl’s life, but his legacy and impact will be felt for years to come. ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland delved into this deeply personal story of loss and empowerment with Cherisse Irvin founder of the ‘Lil Homie Project’ and Adarryl’s younger sister, Saqqara “Skye” Jamaal.
