Each year, hundreds, perhaps thousands of African Americans make a pilgrimage to the African continent. For many years, international tourism on the African continent hovered in the tens of millions. While the west coast countries on the African Continent such as Ghana and Sierra Leone are popular tourist destinations for African Americans, so too are the interior countries and farther east such as Egypt are popular destination for this group of travelers. The Nspire Us Foundation is efforting to provide an opportunity for young people to visit Africa through its ‘Study Abroad in Africa Program.’ ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland talked with Demario Baker, Founder and Executive Director of Nspire-Us Foundation about his multi-layered program, as well as the Study Abroad in Africa initiative.
