Florida Prepares For Major Hit By Hurricane Irma

Irma has been downgraded from a hurricane to tropical storm, as it continues its track north through Florida and Georgia.  About 5.8 million customers are throughout power across the region, and FEMA is indicating that some places won’t have electricity for weeks. Atlanta’s public transit and schools are closed today as there is still expectation of damaging winds and rain today, with Charlotte expecting the same tonight.
