Justin Bieber has cancelled the remaining dates on his Purpose Tour for this year due to “unforeseen circumstances.” In a statement sent by his publicist, Bieber’s camp said, “Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them, however, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.” However, many are charging other causes for the cancellation. Could it be CHURCH?

Longtime manager, Scooter Braun expressed on Instagram Monday, that “a man’s soul and well-being I truly care about came first and We must all respect and honor that.” Braun’s comments and Bieber’s relationship with a particular church and pastor have fueled discussions that a spiritual awakening is the reason for the tour cancellation – not fatigue. TMZ cites a source that says the whole thing centers around Bieber’s relationship with Hillsong NYC Pastor Carl Lentz. The source says though Lentz has increasing influence in Bieber’s life decisions, “The church didn’t tell Justin to cancel the tour. He made his decision based on spiritual soul-searching and his own view of the path in life he should be taking.”

Though everyone is trying to find the “real” reason for the cancellation, implication of religion or one’s spirituality is no doubt rightfully connected. The truth is that often fatigue and “spiritual awakening” go hand in hand. Burning out of whatever your “work” is, often brings about clarity about what’s important – and what the source of your power, success and peace is. Sounds like a young Justin Bieber is trying to work it out.  Perhaps John Mayer, said it best on Twitter:
