New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was photographed on Sunday lounging at a state park beach site, following a government shutdown of the site that he ordered on Friday. Pictures show Christie in a beach chair wearing a baseball cap, t-shirt and swim shorts just before he flew back to Trenton in a state helicopter to work on a budget problem that led to the shutdown. He now faces criticism on social media for entertaining his family at Island Beach State Park over the July 4 holiday, when state residents were not permitted. Christie’s family stayed at a state provided beach house and he has snidely replied to the gripes with, “Run for governor, and you can have a residence there.”
